Fatherhood
They build the statue when Tenzin is eleven.
His father protests, but it’s an honorary gift from Fire Lord Zuko, celebrating the thirtieth year since the war has been over, and so he eventually accepts. His mother, however, thinks it’s beautiful, and she cries every time she looks over the island to it, Avatar Aang standing proud, looking so young. She says things like that a lot. Uncle Sokka teases.
Tenzin begins his training under the statue: his formal training, at least. He’s been practicing for years, stealing the rare moment to watch his father’s motions, running to sketch them out in a little book. He calls his father Sifu Aang. Father despises the nickname, the formality.
But Tenzin doesn’t see anything wrong with it. Sifu Aang is for training at the statue, the scaffolding the highest point in the city. Father is for home. Father is for laughing around the dinner table until Mother scolds and Father smiles and touches her hand and her eyes soften and she relents- Father is for Bumi and Tenzin gorging themselves on lychee nuts with Momo (who lives until the startling age of twenty-nine) and lying in the hot sun, groaning about their bellies while Mother and Kya train and tease, splashing them awake. Father is for home.
just casually crying at my desk, carry on.
Bryke you can mess with borra, and makorra, and masami
but if you mess with Pemzin
I will end you

“He loved me well.
It took me years to realize Father might’ve wanted a child that took after him, because I was never made to feel inadequate as a waterbender. He trained with me as earnestly as he did with Bumi and Tenzin afterward. His eyes would light up just as brilliantly for us, for us, because we were enough.”
-
This is the sort of father I know Aang was. Alongside Katara, he made Kya a masterful waterbender. Bumi’s skills with a bo staff are largely unparalleled because of the intricate technique that went into his footwork. Tenzin is what we’ve been able to see so far.
Aang loved.

From /co/:
Aang’s last words to Tenzin
“Son, are you shitting me? How have you never had a girlfriend this far into your life? You’re the son of the Avatar, bitches should have just rained all over you. Do you have any idea how relieved I was when I finally had an airbender? Now I’m on my deathbed, and I’m going to die knowing that there is once again only one airbender in the world. You’d better find yourself a young ass bitch, and once you stick it in, NEVER TAKE IT OUT”………..

Well my mind is officially fucked with.so i just realized what nick’s description of “the voice in the night” says:
Korra draws closer and closer to Amon and the Equalists, but she loses sight of Mako.
okay, i’m going to sound like a total hypocrite right now, since i’ve consistently said that “EPISODE FOUR WASN’T ABOUT SHIPPING IT WAS ABOUT KORRA’S FEELINGS”
but L O L OKAY this + the character descriptions + that nick tweet about how makorra shippers have competition or something are all obviously trying to emphasize their relationship
idk how much of a say the creators/writers have in that stuff, but WHOEVER WRITES THESE ARE MAKING SUCH A BIG DEAL ABOUT KORRA AND MAKO’S RELATIONSHIP
WHICH HONESTLY MAKES ME A LITTLE GIDDY AND I’M SORRY I AM A HYPOCRITE
because i mean mako and korra interacted for like twenty seconds in 1.4, and they didn’t really show her brooding over her relationship with mako or anything, yet the description describes her “losing sight” of him
why
i mean
why would they write this
i wasn’t under the impression that korra felt like she was losing sight of him and i didn’t think that was a significant part of the episode at all, but it says it right there in the description
IT’S NOT ABOUT SHIPPING. but their relationship is obviously an integral part of the series
unless the description writers are just huge makorra fans and bryke have absolutely no say in this stuffwhy must they do this augh it’s torture
EDIT okay the description on the actual video is kind of more general, so
what
i’m even more confused now
WHO WRITES THESE DESCRIPTIONS
WELL FUCK YOU NICK
-_-

I noticed in the preview for episode 5, Bolin’s shoulder was burned. I was not happy.
Don’t touch my precious baby Bolin
Take this punk to the wheel of punishment immediately
NO! I WILL FIND YOU AND SEND SHIA LEBOUF AFTER YOU
I figured it was just a burn from a pro bending match or something.
Y’know since they get fireballs thrown at them all the time..
